- 1 kodumpulli torn into strips
- 1/2 kg fish or prawns (deveined and shelled)
Grind into paste the following:
- 1 tsp Dhania
- 5 cloves
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp methi (fenugreek)
- 1 tsp Haldi
- 5 peppercorns
- 1 tsp rai (mustard seeds)
- Make half the coconut into milk, and keep half as a paste
- Soak a few strips of kodampulli (or kokum)
- In hot oil, fry masala paste
- Add coconut milk and the prawns or fish and boil for 15 mins
